Dental implants actually have been around since the late 1960s and have been in commercial use since the mid-1970s. Dental implants are far superior to dentures because they provide the feel,form and function of natural teeth. I highly recommend anyone with missing teeth to consider dental implants over dentures as the benefits are tremendous, from both a health and convenience standpoint.

I’ve never heard about dental implants. According to the article it’s a relatively new procedure. It sounds painful though, which is not a rare thing in dentistry.

My mother has a bridge and is very happy with it. She was afraid about having all of her teeth pulled for dentures but learned about a bridge which uses her existing teeth to create real-looking teeth, despite her underlying dental problems.

Many people do not know about bridges and think complete dentures are the only solution. Unfortunately they do not know about this and settle with mediocre teeth.
